When configuring SharePoint sites, it is often advantageous to start with one of the 40 application templates that were provided with WSS 3.0, and then make the SharePoint changes necessary to fulfill your requirements. However, with the release of SharePoint 2010, these templates are no longer available. If you want to use application templates in 2010, there is two ways to go about it (this is not absolute and may not work in every case).

  1. Upgrade a development MOSS 2007 or WSS 3.0 site to SharePoint 2010 and save the site as a template
  2. Visit the Tech Solutions website. Khalil has been working diligently to update many of the WSS 3.0 application templates to SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Foundation 2010.

We have two sites that heavily use the Knowledge Base template from the 2007 Fab 40. We tested before upgrading from 2007 to 2010 and identified numerous issues with the KB after the upgrade like can't write or upload articles, problems viewing articles, can't edit articles.Any solution or suggestion for this then please share.drug and alcohol detox
